The residents of Mukuru-SEPU are primarily tenants (87%), followed by structure owners (10%) and co-tenants (3%). This reflects a community with high tenancy levels and limited property ownership. Income levels are generally low, with tenants earning an average of KSh 11,196 per month. Structure owners reported slightly higher average incomes of KSh 15,547. Many families struggle to meet daily expenses such as rent, water, and sanitation, leaving little room for savings or investment.

Socio-Economic Challenges
